Depicted by the recent photo of a 10-12 foot Great White Shark, Carcharodon carcharias, duck diving a wave amidst some enthusiastic surfers, an ameture photographer shot a photo two days before the swell hit, and he captured the imagination of America. It was clearly the cadual fin of a white shark, but this was not the end.
A day after I surfed Swamis, I turned on the news to witness a photo of a washed up and half-eaten shovelnose shark at the same spot I was earlier. News 8 reported it was attacked by a Great White Shark (GWS), I was skeptical, but damn...Jaws is back in town! I thought of my memories as a young boy, scary memories of man-eating sharks, and water turned blood red. I was afraid.
No bully ever beat me up and got away with it. I always got the better of them...or at least I put up a good fight, and they never came around again. If I ever lost, I'd never give up, until I settled it with myself, then, I became friend with my enemy.
